Helikon-Opera to perform at the Bolshevik business and cultural centre

March 23, 2018. Moscow’s Helikon-Opera will present a programme of excerpts from Kurt Weil’s opera-ballet The Seven Deadly Sins at 17.00 on April 12 in the atrium of the Bolshevik business and cultural centre (15 Leningradsky Prospect, Moscow). The performance will be part of the annual theatre project, Golden Mask in the City. Admission is free.

The Seven Deadly Sins, written in 1933 by the composer Kurt Weil and the playwright and poet Bertolt Brecht, combines opera and ballet. The première of the Helikon-Opera production took place on 18 May 2017. The atrium of the Bolshevik business and cultural centre is an open urban space and the performance there by Helikon-Opera will give lovers of culture an opportunity to enjoy high art in an urban environment, beyond the walls of the theatre. Such extension of cultural life is the principal aim of the Golden Mask in the City project.

Dmitry Mints, Chairman of the Board of Directors of O1 Properties said: "We have supported the Golden Mask Festival over many years. Partnership between business and culture makes it possible to act on ideas, to discover new names and new projects. It is therefore with great pleasure that we give an open invitation to gather once again at the Bolshevik business and cultural centre to enjoy one of the most important theatrical productions of 2017."

O1 Properties has been a partner of the Golden Mask theatre festival since 2012 and has made its business centres available for festival productions on several occasions . In 2014 a fragment of the play The House of Bernarda Alba by Garcia Lorca (staged by the Volkov Theatre of Drama, Yaroslavl) was shown at the Lighthouse business centre , and in 2017 Ballet Moscow presented excerpts from its production Equus at the Bolshevik centre.
